NEWS
Ogden, UT—Planned Parenthood Association of Utah (PPAU) has announced the grand opening of their new, bigger health care facility in Ogden, Utah with a big community party on July 12 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the new Planned Parenthood Ogden Health Center location: 434 E 5350 South, Unit D in Washington Terrace (Next to Ogden Regional Hospital).
There will be food and drinks from local restaurants—Pig & Jelly Jar's chicken and waffles and Criss Cross Macarons—a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guided tours, dedication of the Sarah McClellan waiting room, and speakers including spoken word artist Wynter Storm, Sarah McClellan of the Northern HIV-AIDS Project, and Planned Parenthood's new CEO, Kat Boyd.
Planned Parenthood Association of Utah has provided sexual and reproductive healthcare for over 50 years. The new health center, the event page states, exemplifies “our ongoing commitment to supporting the health and well-being of individuals and families in the Ogden and northern Utah area.” Planned Parenthood provides affordable and non-judgmental high-quality healthcare including birth control, HIV services, LGBT healthcare, men's and women's healthcare, the morning-after pill, STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing and services, etc.
The new Planned Parenthood Ogden Health Center is over 3,000 square feet—around three times bigger than its former facility that was located on Harrison Boulevard in South Ogden. The reason for the move, says Planned Parenthood Ogden Health Center, was that Intermountain Health Care, which owns the shopping center where Planned Parenthood was previously located, is turning the space into new healthcare offices of its own.
All are welcome to attend the community celebration of the new healthcare center on Wednesday, July 12, 6-7:30 p.m. and learn more about the services provided by the Planned Parenthood Association of Utah and its community partners.
The organizers ask for the public to please RSVP: bit.ly/PPOGDEN to enter an opportunity drawing and reserve your food/drinks.
