A poem about the farmers market by local writer and photographer Christina Miller.
Photos of Farmers Market Ogden by Christina Miller.
Supple fruit and veggies sun-kissed on the way to market
Blossoms catcalling each passerby with their looks
Rows of colors weave across the table
With the thread that sews the sustenance of life
A week’s harvest sets on the tables
They come to fill their baskets
To take nourishment from the farmers toil
To feed their soul for the next week
Color theory lessons for the artists eye
Red, Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green, Purple
A palette grown from dirt
Painting a Saturday canvas
Beauty that rivals the murals found in galleries
But it breathes and moves with life
From dirt, to travel, to table, to family, together
Produce community at the weekly farmer’s market
