La Ferrovia Ristorante

Weekly restaurant & bar reviews

La Ferrovia Ristorante has been serving up homemade, authentic Italian recipes for 33 years on Historic 25th Street in Ogden, Utah.

The now-shuttered Star Noodle Dragon, whose iconic marquee still lights up the famous “Two Bit” street, was the only other restaurant on the street in 1988 when La Ferrovia opened its doors at their current location.

Generations of loyal patrons have dined at La Ferrovia from the beginning, and while it has not made him rich and they’ve had their ups and downs, the owner Jeff says it has provided for his family all these years. His daughter Barbara has worked there since she could “reach the table.”

Both original owners, husband and wife, still do all of the cooking. When they have the time, homemade gnocchi is served.

The Pasta Combo (pictured) comes with traditional bread, side salad with delicious house-made carrot vinaigrette, and the vegetarian tomato sauce is available upon request “beefed up” with mushrooms and olives.

Important notes: they have a wonderful selection of wine & beer, beautiful wall murals, and a welcoming fish tank.

Ogden is fortunate to have this family-run restaurant for all the moments—first dates, family reunions, birthdays, lunches with friends…it is a true gem.
