Rustic Edge Barbershop invites the community to the grand opening of its new location in South Ogden on Saturday, Oct. 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The celebration will feature $25 haircuts, Chicas food truck, Citrus & Barley tap truck, raffles, and more.
Catelyn and Jessica McFarland, the co-owners of Rustic Edge Barbershop, have created a space where clients of all ages feel free to express themselves authentically and embrace their unique identities. Their mission is to provide exceptional grooming services while fostering a sense of community and empowerment.
“More than just a place to get a haircut, it’s a safe and inclusive space that celebrates diversity and individuality,” said Cat McFarland. “As a lesbian-owned business, we understand the importance of representation and creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and accepted.”
Rustic Edge opened in Riverdale in 2020, one week before the COVID-19 shutdown. The McFarlands moved the shop to South Ogden for better visibility and control over their growing business.
“At the heart of our motivation is the desire to challenge traditional norms and break down barriers,” McFarland said. “We are driven by the belief that everyone deserves to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.”
The barbershop has an old-school feel with high-end grooming services including color, perms, and skin care treatments. The McFarlands hope to host events and educational opportunities in the new space.
Rustic Edge Barbershop is located at 3776 Wall Ave., #1, in South Ogden.
