Tony Holiday: Powerful Blues Right here at Home

By Paddy Teglia

Ogden Concerts

If you’ve had any chance to see the amazing music that comes through Ogden, you have definitely heard the name Tony Holiday. A former Utah resident now living in Memphis, Tony has been well known in the scene.

Known for his smoldering live performances that bring the traditions of blues and soul to life right in front of your eyes, Tony sends it on up. With a deep knowledge of the Blues and the chops to back it up, you are brought right back to the juke joints and whisky halls of old. Now that Tony spends most of his time taking the show on the road, it is a rare treat to see him right back in his native state.

Aside from live performances, Tony has put on a series called The Porch Sessions, that features Blues legends playing songs right at home. You can find Tony’s recordings on all the streaming music platforms and videos of the porch sessions on YouTube.

You can see Tony Holiday and his band at Lighthouse Lounge (130 25th St. Ogden, UT) on Friday, September 9.

Disclosure: The author, Paddy Teglia, is the sound engineer at Lighthouse Lounge.
