Not IF but When for ‘If And When’ Band

The first EP released by Ogden’s ‘If and When’ band has four psychedelic/rock tracks you’d never know were recorded and produced by young musicians at their own homes.

Ogden psychedelic blues/rockers If and When released their first EP, self-titled “If and When,” on October 31, with four original tracks recorded and produced independently by the band in their own homes.

When a band is in synch, you can feel it. It’s one of the first things stood out to me when I heard “Dead Man’s Blues.” This band is tight. The cohesiveness of their sound makes sense, considering they’ve been friends since grade school and two of them are cousins. I imagine they’ve put in as many hours playing together as most people have brushing their hair.

They look and sound like seasoned rock musicians, long hair and all. But they’re not simply channeling Pink Floyd, or The Doors, Mac Demarco, or any other of their influences. They play original music with authenticity, and authority. If and When band demands your attention.

It’s shocking they aren’t old enough to play in bars. But they’re making good use of their time until they can, hitting the hottest all ages spots from Logan to Provo—Whysound, Velour, Kilby Court—and they recently won Battle of the Bands at Weber State University.

They are Corden Kingsbury (drums), Jackson Haugen (lead vocals/guitar), Luke Rogerson (vocals/guitar) and Hunter Hamblin (bass).

If and When also released singles “Heist Song” (March 11, 2023) and “Eleventh Hour” (October 1, 2022).

I predict we’re going to see a lot more of this band—not IF but When.
