A new Utah-focused music performance and trivia hybrid show, Utah Doesn’t Exist, premieres on February 15 at The Boiler Room in Ogden.

Starting at 7:30 p.m., four local musicians will perform for a live studio audience and speak with a panel of judges in an interview segment. The contestants will then compete for a secret grand prize in a trivia-style competition, in what the producer and host Jared Glen Palmer calls an “ode to Hollywood Squares.”

Palmer is an award-winning actor and the mind behind Utah Doesn’t Exist who hopes to offer an additional platform to local musicians through the show in a fun and interesting way. The premiere is a celebratory milestone for Palmer and the crew involved.

“We have been trying to get this game show off of the ground for over 10 years, so this is very exciting for us,” Palmer said. “It means the world to me that all of the artists involved are getting the recognition that they deserve.”

The contestants are selected through a submission process, which will reopen on social media after the premiere for upcoming episodes of Utah Doesn’t Exist.

“The best part though, is that each episode is being filmed to be compiled as a complete season and submitted to film aggregators who will add our show to streaming platforms,” Palmer said. “Each season will also be submitted at the end of the year to film festivals under the category of ‘podcasts/entertainment.’”

A portion of each show is donated to local charities and food banks. All contestants are paid for their performance and appearance, whether they win their episode’s competition or not.

The live studio audience is open to the public and all ages. “We would love everyone to come have fun with us,” Palmer said.

Attendees may arrive at the Boiler Room, 688 Amidan Dr. (Building 4x, Bay 3) in Ogden. Tickets are $12 at the door or online. The event can also be viewed on the Utah Doesn’t Exist social media pages.
