Fans of Sammy Brue are no strangers to the evolution of his thoughtful and intricate songwriting process. From folk, to rock, to punk, Brue is always bringing new surprises and styles from release to release.
The new single “Complicated” (2022) introduces us to yet another new side to his talents.
“Complicated” harkens back to some of the best pop and club style tunes from the early 2000s and on. With an ultra catchy backbeat and hook that is reminiscent of hip hop tones, you are immediately drawn in. No shock to anyone that on top of being a very catchy pop rhythm, “Complicated” also features some insightful lyrics that will get you thinking while you dance.
This new track is nothing like we have heard from Sammy in the past and creates an air of excitement while listening to it, to see just what he might have up his sleeve next.
