If you want motivation to reach your fitness goals this winter, there is a strong community in Ogden to support you. Runners of all levels are invited to participate in GOAL Foundation’s 2025 Winter Running Series, the official training series for the America First Ogden Marathon.

Registration is now open for the four-race series starting on February 15. Participants may sign up for the complete four-race series — 5K, 10K, 10-miler, and half marathon — or individual races.

“Our Winter Running Series is more than just training; it’s about building community, staying active through the winter, and supporting one another in achieving personal goals,” said Troy Callantine, Executive Director of the GOAL Foundation, in a press release.

The training series draws 500-600 runners annually and has a track record of turning newbies into marathon-goers. Steveana Hensley discovered a love for winter running as a participant training for her first half marathon.

“Running the series helped me push myself to new levels in my running journey. Previously, I had never run more than a 5K, and by the end of the series, I had signed up for my first half marathon,” she stated to GOAL.

Runners will be greeted with cheers from GOAL volunteers and staff members at the start/finish lines set up with water, Gatorade, Daily Rise coffee, hot cocoa, salty snacks, and fruit — and earn beautiful medals and receive a super soft long-sleeved shirt.

Proceeds from the Winter Running Series support the GOAL Foundation, a nonprofit whose mission is to inspire the Greater Ogden Community and its visitors to “Get Out And Live!” by participating, volunteering, and spectating at recreational and cultural events, programs, and activities.
