One of Ogden's best-kept secrets is a stylish speakeasy bar called Unspoken, located at 211 Historic 25th Street. Now, it has live music every Saturday night with its newly enlisted resident DJ, who goes by, simply, Adam.

Adam wants to connect Ogden to a new vibration of electronic music that he has cultivated through his world travels.

“As a young kid traveling with the military and being sent to unfamiliar parts of the world, I realized that music is the one constant between all cultures throughout all of time,” he says.

The Ogden-based DJ says he wants people to come and be themselves, dance, or just relax on the couches and listen to some great music.

“I equate playing music to inviting people into my living room for a night; it’s a little glimpse into what I love to listen to and what I’m playing for the people closest to me,” Adam says. “It’s really vulnerable and intimate—if it’s done right.”

Adam’s vast electronic music taste ranges from house music and tech-house, to “really good quality techno as well as any other genres that fit into the overall arc of the set.”

He lists Atrip, Bicep, Sohmi, Tiesto, The Blaze, Gorgon City, DIPLO, Mochakk, MK, Eli Brown, Chris Lake, Swedish House Mafia, Fred Again, Four Tet, Black Coffee, Folamour, Artbat, Adriatique, Tale of Us, CamelPhat, HAAI, Solomun … as some of the many artists he loves. “I love downtempo and deep house: Rufus du Sol / Who Made Who / RyX etc.”

Adam’s House Music Night is every Saturday at Unspoken. The ages 21+ bar opens at 7 p.m., and the set goes from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. $5 cover.
