Ogden’s big fall bash hits the streets on Saturday, September 16. It’s the 22nd Harvest Moon Celebration, 12-8 p.m. on Historic 25th Street—a free community street fest featuring two stages of local musicians, games, food trucks, vendors and live entertainment.

You could say it was at least partially born of the void left behind years after Ogden’s legendary summer Street Festival of the 80s and 90s ended.

Harvest Moon Celebration was started by a group of Historic 25th Street small business owners in 2002, to bring the people back to the streets of downtown Ogden for a yearly event that exudes the same spirit of community enjoyment. The vision was led by Heidi Harwood (City Club/Brewkis), Kym Buttschardt (Roosters Hospitality Group), Sara Toliver (Visit Ogden), Jo Packham (Urban Studio), and several others.

The autumnal tradition is now hosted by local nonprofit organization Ogden Downtown Alliance that has successfully sustained the magic of the fall festivities.

It’s a place and time that Ogdenites have fallen in love, planted first kisses, gotten engaged, and created beautiful memories with friends and family.

Here we go again in 2023, 21 years after the first. Let’s see what unfolds as the new Harvest Moon approaches.
