The big New Year’s Eve barn party at Nordic Valley Resort is back for a second round with a torchlight parade, fireworks, and live music ‘til midnight.

Nordic Valley Ski Resort is hosting a free NYE Barn Bash on Saturday, December 31, 3 p.m. to midnight decked out with a torchlight parade, fireworks, and five hours of live music from four local bands: Cardinal Bloom, Imag!nary Friendz, The Boomers, and Compass Rose.

The party is free but you can also purchase all day skiing—or a night skiing pass (3-7 p.m.) as low as $10. Cardinal Bloom, recent winners of Battle of the Bands at Velour in Provo, kicks off the Barn Bash at 7 p.m. with high energy, groovy indie rock. The Boomers, the lifties band, are returning from last year’s NYE party and SLC’s Imag!nary Friendz and Ogden’s Compass Rose make their debut for this event.

There is a kids torchlight ceremony at 7:30 p.m. on the mountain followed by the adult torchlight parade at 8:30 p.m. Fireworks begin at 8:45 p.m.

Beer, hard seltzers, soda floats, and a special late night snack will be available at the afterparty in the barn.

There’s one more reason to head up to this skiers gem with its affordable, flexible pricing in Ogden Valley—The new Aid Room Beer Bar opened on site this month. A beautiful table made by Cody Warner (@backyard_beaver) and handsome countertops completed with the help of Nick Fletcher cozy up the space with a local artists’ touch.

Smash Burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, hot wings, soups, salads, and wraps are on the menu. Marketing manager Abbey Scott says the Smash Burgers are a huge hit—”Imagine Five Guys but better!”
