Logan mountain folk singer Rorry Forbush lights up Ogden
Local Artist to Watch
If you like John Denver, Bob Dylan, or Cat Stevens then Irish eyes are smilin’ on you, Ogdenites. Mountain folk singer/songwriter Rorry Forbush, who sounds like a blend of all three, is bringing his original nature-inspired tunes from Logan to Ogden on Saturday.
Forbush also plays covers by artists like Tom Petty, Bob Marley, Angus and Julia Stone, Wilco, Spacey Jane, and Sticky Fingers. But at least half of his sets, that he’s been performing over ten years, are original songs.
A Logan native, where it seems like an abundance of good music is born, Forbush says most of his music inspiration comes from the mountains, nature, local artists, and “spreading the light and love into the world.”
”I really love Ogden’s vibes and music scene,” says Forbush who plays around O-Town often. Some venues/events he’d love to play and hasn’t yet are Harvest Moon Celebration, Powder Keg, Snowbasin, Blues Brews and BBQ and the Kimball Arts Festival in Park City.
We asked Forbush for some of his favorite local artists and got a whole “dream festival” list of musicians and bands:
