MORE THAN A CAFE, IT’S A LIFESTYLE

By Brook Barney / Natured Balance

Coming from someone who has had to dance around a menu the majority of my life and is now working with clients who have to do the same to gain their health state back, I have so much gratitude for The Lotus Cafe—where an entire menu is an option, not only a salad.

Where do I eat out in Ogden to get healthy food that fits my lifestyle? A lifestyle that desires whole foods from the earth, requiring mainly gluten free, dairy free, and refined sugar-free foods. Though there are a few good spots in Ogden, one of my favorites is The Lotus Cafe!

When your lifestyle requires dietary adjustments such as removing gluten, dairy, or refined sugar, you are often left with an option for salad with minimal toppings, and a side of olive oil and lemon. Your choices are further limited if you are vegan, as there often isn’t an option for plant protein.

The Lotus Cafe offers a primarily organic menu filled with fresh, satisfying, and delicious whole foods without all the processing, additives, and refinement that often comes with eating out. Aside from a welcoming, beautifully energetically balance space to eat, shop, work, study, or socialize, the menu ranges from raw juice, smoothies, teas & coffee, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, protein power bowls, salads, and a large selection of mindful treats made without refined sugar.

Whether you have dietary needs or lifestyle preferences, you will find a delicious, satisfying nutrient-dense meal, drink or treat for the entire family at The Lotus Cafe.

Coming from someone who has had to dance around a menu the majority of my life and is now working with clients who have to do the same to gain their health state back, I have so much gratitude for a place to eat where an entire menu is an option, not only a salad.

Ruthie Shinn and Shane Poulsen recently purchased the cafe from long-time owner Stephanie, who owns Buddhi Yoga, a fantastic yoga studio inside the cafe and shop. Together this space is a Place of healing, nourishment, vitality, community, and wellness.

Shinn and Poulsen have a shared passion and intention for holistic health and living and are now bringing their love of life to the Ogden community through healthy food.

“It’s not just a cafe; it’s a lifestyle!” — Ruthie and Shane

Some of my favorite’s from the menu:

  • Hempilicious Smoothie-Hemp is a complete protein that provides energy and satiety.

  • Golden Milk Tea-This perfect blend has powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Veg Head on GF-Full of colorful fresh veggies, and hummus, this sandwich boasts nutrients and fiber supporting overall health.

  • Doughnuts-These Gluten Free, Vegan treats are so amazing when you want a treat without jeopardizing your health.

So make your way into the Lotus and enjoy food prepared from the earth with love.
