“Black Panther,” Cherry Thomas
One of Ogden’s sweetest voices, Cherry’s original soul-pop sound has “a flavor of r & b with some jazz sprinkled on top.”
A self-taught guitar player since age 12, she also plays the keys—some new songs unreleased songs were written in ivories, Cherry said.
“Black Panther,” her first single, was released in 2018 and she is currently working on her first album.
Since 2016 when this Ogden-raised singer/songwriter first started writing and performing songs, she’s quickly turned heads and picked up some amazing gigs. She opened for Michelle Branch at the Untamed West Festival at Ogden Amphitheater and Mavis Staples at Ogden Music Festival 2019, and played with Sammy Brue and The Wednesday People at Kilby Court in Salt Lake.
She’s been featured on several local media stations, including Ogden’s Van Sessions.
Cherry’s musical influences—Amy Winehouse, Sade, Nai Palm, and Yebba—mixed with her own sweet soul make every song she sings a decadent experience.
